Travel Throwback: Fiji

I was so excited when my stepmom told me that she bought a ticket for me to go to Fiji! I was able to do so because:

  1. I needed to go out of the island (American Samoa) and have my passport stamped since it is new.
  2. I have to babysit my brother Larry while he was in a tennis tournament, which I did not mind at all because I love him.

I definitely had a great time even though most of it is spent with my little brother and making sure that he is okay.

We stayed in Denarau Island, which was about 30-50 min. drive (depends on traffic) from Nadi International Airport. At the time, the road was under construction. It was fun to see so many different things!

Denarau Island is a small, private island that boasts five-star resorts such as Westin, Sofitel, and Radisson. My brother and I stayed in Wyndham Resort, and it was just absolutely stunning!

Wyndham Resort was beautiful and its staff was very friendly and accommodating! My brother has been to Fiji several times and he told me that we should go “hotel hopping”. Even though we bought bus passes for $17 Fijian dollars for us to use around the island, we decided to take a walk to do our “hotel hopping”. Of course, we started from our resort Wyndham.

We walked on the beach and were even offered some free fresh coconuts!

We passed by Radisson BLU and it was so beautiful! We saw a table with two chairs set up by the beach and it was just too romantic!

We passed by some of the other hotels, then proceeded to go to Port Denarau. Larry kept insisting that I will love it there, and yes I did. The marina was not that big, but it was a beauty to behold.

There were some restaurants, shops, and tour operators.

It was a bit hot and so my brother asked me to buy some ice cream.

Denarau Island, Fiji is definitely a must-see place!
